Locklear Talks Melrose Place

Heather Locklear's return to Melrose Place is only a week away and she's finally speaking about her iconic return to the series that made us all love to hate her.

In an interview with the New York Times, Locklear had this to say about her first day on the set.

“I really was winking at the audience. As I stood there watching everything going around me, I tried to go: ‘This is crazy. I’m normal.’"

While some, believe it or not, are sad to hear Ashlee Simspon and Colin Egglesfield won't be back for the remainder of the series, the executive producers aren't looking back.

“Heather Locklear is so synonymous with the franchise,” exec Todd. Slavkin said. “Amanda Woodward is the one character we felt could be folded in, in a much bigger way, to make the show more accessible.”

Even so, Heather still had doubts about returning.

"I thought, 'Is that a good idea?' Has it been long enough and does anyone care anymore? It was hard to see what they were really going to do.”

Once she saw the pilot, she was convinced, although she did skirt around her arrest last year.

“There’s that whole Internet thing. You can’t help but be scrutinized, so I might as well be doing something while I’m being scrutinized. People can talk about whatever they want, but this is what’s happening now. I don’t look back.”

And I still don't hold it against her, because unlike Mackenzie Phillips or Paris Hilton, Heather is talented and has only had ONE run-in with the law, which was -- at best - blow out of proportion.

Tune in November 17, 2009, to watch Heather make her much needed return! :)
