Drunk Woman Escapes Death by Subway
Was anybody as shocked as I was by this clip that got national airplay on most major news stations last night?
It's incredible.
A few seconds before the fall, the woman attempted to discard a used cigarette out of her hand, but ended up falling on the tracks.
Some reports say the subway conductor was ONE foot away from killing her.
Yes, she admitted she was drunk, but still...
I hope the liquor was worth it, you stupid, drunk bitch!

Heather's First Scene, Marcia Too Busy
Can't wait to see Heather Locklear's return to Melrose Place next week?
Don't worry. Yesterday, People Magazine published THIS exclusive clip which features Heather's first appearance on the revamped series.
She literally mops up the floor with Ella and Caleb.
And while fans may be rejoicing over Locklear's return, don't expect a visit from Marcia Cross any time soon.
The Desperate Housewives star had this to say about the show that made her famous:
It would be great to see her, though, even if her character died before the series ended, but she always sounds so ungrateful to the show and what it did for her.
Oh well.

The Desperate Housewives star had this to say about the show that made her famous:
"I have a very busy life, so it is not even about what I would do on Melrose Place, because I have already done every crazy thing imaginable as the whacked-out Kimberly, but I don't have a minute in my day left. So I don't have any plans now, unless they want to float me on a raft and let me take a nap in the infamous pool."Too late. Laura Leighton already did that!

LMAO!
This new promo for Heather Locklear's return really brought the funny. I laughed for two minutes straight after she said "you're fired." Of course, we know she really gives Ella's boss, Caleb Brewer, the boot -- but you gotta love the way The CW is spinning her return.
ABC Cancels Eastwick
It's a sad day, Eastwick fans.ABC announced earlier this morning that it would not be ordering additional episodes of the magical comedy series starring Rebecca Romijn and Matt Dallas.
However, the network will air the remaining episodes in the show's currently Wednesday timeslot at 10 P.M., which means the series will air its swan song on January 13, 2009.
Even though it debuted in September to strong ratings, its numbers have continued to decline. It had a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo, but over the last month and a half, that has dropped to a 1.4, which is probably an indication of ABC's decision.
It was good while it lasted, though.

McInerney Out of Options
Brandon McInerney WILL face the music. He's scheduled to stand trial in the 2008 murder of Lawrence King, even though he plead not guilty in August, but he's officially out of options.
McInerney's lawyers were scheduled to challenge a lying-in-wait charge prosecutors filed roughly one month before he was arraigned, but nothing ever came of it -- until now.
Last week, the 2nd District Appellate Court, Division 6, in Ventura, California, denied McInerney's lawyers' petition to overturn a previous ruling that allowed the charge to stand, since he did WAIT 20 minutes in a school computer lab before murdering Larry King.
A lying-in-wait charge automatically means the case MUST be tried in adult court, meaning McInerney can kiss the chances of receiving a reduced sentence goodbye.
Shortly after the decision, one of the lead attorneys, Scott Wippert had this to say:
"We are still confident that the law is on our side. We will be petitioning the issue to the Supreme Court."
I realize it's his job to defend his client, but Brandon's actions were premeditated in nature, so why waste time trying to appeal?
I'll be following the story.
Locklear Talks Melrose Place
Heather Locklear's return to Melrose Place is only a week away and she's finally speaking about her iconic return to the series that made us all love to hate her.In an interview with the New York Times, Locklear had this to say about her first day on the set.
“I really was winking at the audience. As I stood there watching everything going around me, I tried to go: ‘This is crazy. I’m normal.’"
While some, believe it or not, are sad to hear Ashlee Simspon and Colin Egglesfield won't be back for the remainder of the series, the executive producers aren't looking back.
“Heather Locklear is so synonymous with the franchise,” exec Todd. Slavkin said. “Amanda Woodward is the one character we felt could be folded in, in a much bigger way, to make the show more accessible.”
Even so, Heather still had doubts about returning.
"I thought, 'Is that a good idea?' Has it been long enough and does anyone care anymore? It was hard to see what they were really going to do.”
Once she saw the pilot, she was convinced, although she did skirt around her arrest last year.
“There’s that whole Internet thing. You can’t help but be scrutinized, so I might as well be doing something while I’m being scrutinized. People can talk about whatever they want, but this is what’s happening now. I don’t look back.”
And I still don't hold it against her, because unlike Mackenzie Phillips or Paris Hilton, Heather is talented and has only had ONE run-in with the law, which was -- at best - blow out of proportion.
Tune in November 17, 2009, to watch Heather make her much needed return! :)
Oprah and Ellen's Magazine Cover
Released mid-Friday, this is the cover Ellen and Oprah have been keeping under wraps ever since Ellen declared she wanted to share the O Magazine cover with Oprah. The December issue featuring the talk duo will go on sale this Thursday and you can watch Oprah's exclusive interview with Ellen when Oprah airs this afternoon.
Here is what Winfrey had to say about the shoot:
“When Ellen arrived at the photo shoot for our cover, I didn’t have to ask her how she was doing: it showed on her face. She radiated the kind of peace and satisfaction that comes only when you’re living at your highest potential.”I guess it's only fitting she's gracing the December issue (since the holidays are synonymous with "joy"), but: the colors could've been a little more exuberant.

Maine Votes Yes On 1
Yesterday, voters in Maine approved a ballot initiative (known as Question 1) that effectively repealed a gay marriage law that passed in the state, via legislature, back in May.According to today's reports, 53% of Mainers chose to take away a gay or lesbian's right to marry. 47% of the state opposed the initiative, with 87% of the state's precincts factoring into the result.
You know what bothers me the most? The picture (click to enlarge) attached to this post, which was used in one of the articles detailing the final vote.
What strikes me is the overt JOY of at least two of the women in the picture. Since when was taking away an individual's basic RIGHT so joyous?
Even more troubling is the pose of the elderly woman, grasping onto her, what I suspect, husband's hand. So, now, people are PRAYING we don't get the right to marry?
It's so disheartening. And while I haven't really been keeping tabs on a lot of the gay issues lately, how is there ever going to be any change if the LGBT community's rights are continually put up for AUCTION to a majority of people who do not WANT to see us have the same rights that they do?
When did that become ok?
I guarantee you that if it were THEIR right to marry on the chopping block, they'd finally understand where we're coming from. But, because heterosexual marriage is "normal" and had this been their fate, more than 90% of Mainers would've voted NO.
Since when is it ok for people, who take their marriages for granted (especially those that get divorced) to choose what other people, who understand the value of a relationship on a deeper level -- do with their lives?
You can't just put someone's right on a chopping block because it doesn't fit into a box. That's what's going on, and will continue to go on unless we finally start standing up.
And you can call me out and say, "Well, what are you doing besides sitting in front of a computer blogging?," and that's fine, but:
WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE?
Why aren't more gays and lesbians doing sit-ins at their county clerk's office or courthouse, refusing to leave until they're married?
So, maybe at worst you'd be thrown in jail and ultimately be sent home, but at least it would be SOMETHING to show that you're not willing to put up with it anymore.
Here's another thing: I read The Advocate online every day and I get so fed up with people blasting Obama because he didn't do this or he promised that, yet hasn't shown any follow through. The truth is you can't do anything if it's all red tape, so this whole one-sided "he won't do this" or "he lied to us about that" slant has got to go.
I guess I don't know what I'm trying to say, maybe i don't have a point, but until a majority of US start practicing civil disobedience, and dare I say it -- dying for the right, nothing will change.
Who likes the smell of pine cones anyway?!
